Audi's flagship sedan was the first production car to feature the zFAS centralised ADAS controller – and the D5 A8 (2017+) carries more sensors than any other Audi. Front radar, windscreen camera, four corner radars, laser scanner, infrared Night Vision camera, and 12 ultrasonic sensors all feed into a single controller. When something goes wrong with one sensor on the A8, the zFAS module can flag faults across systems that seem completely unrelated.

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Audi A8
Intersection Assist is an A8-exclusive system that monitors cross-traffic at junctions and warns you before pulling into the path of an approaching vehicle. It uses the front radar and camera data processed through the zFAS module. After any front-end repair, the system's accuracy depends on correctly calibrated sensors – it's included in our Full System Reset scope.
