Audi A3 ADAS Calibration

Error code C110300 on your Audi A3's dashboard – Adaptive Cruise Assist unavailable, Pre Sense warning flashing. This VW Group fault code means the front radar sensor behind the grille is misaligned, and on the A3 it's almost always triggered by bumper repair, grille removal, or collision. The A3 shares its MQB platform with the VW Golf, and the C110300 code appears identically on both – but Audi's Pre Sense calibration procedure is brand-specific.

ADAS Systems on Your Audi A3

The A3 has two distinct ADAS configurations:

8V (2012–2020):

  • Audi Pre Sense Front – available from 2016 facelift onwards, optional on earlier models
  • Adaptive Cruise Assist – optional on S line and above, standalone radar behind front grille
  • Active Lane Assist – optional, windscreen-mounted camera
  • Rear Parking Sensors – standard on most trims
  • Pre-2016 models may have minimal ADAS – check your specification before assuming calibration is needed

8Y (2020+):

  • Audi Pre Sense Front + Pre Sense City – standard AEB on all trims
  • Adaptive Cruise Assist – standard on S line, optional on Sport
  • Active Lane Assist – standard, windscreen-mounted camera
  • Side Assist – optional blind spot monitoring via rear bumper radar
  • Matrix LED headlights – optional adaptive headlights unique to the A3 in Audi's compact range

The A3 shares MQB platform architecture with the Volkswagen Golf – same radar mounting position behind the grille badge, same windscreen camera location. But Audi uses its own Pre Sense software and calibration protocols, so VW-specific tools won't produce accurate results on an A3.

Common ADAS Issues on the Audi A3

After Bumper Repair or Grille Replacement

The most common A3 scenario. The front radar sits behind the four-ring badge – any work that removes or repositions the grille shifts the radar alignment. On 8Y models, this triggers both Adaptive Cruise Assist and Pre Sense faults simultaneously because they share the same radar input.

If your A3 shows error C110300 after bodywork, the radar is physically misaligned and needs static recalibration with manufacturer-approved targets.

After Windscreen Replacement

The A3's Active Lane Assist camera is mounted behind the rearview mirror. Windscreen replacement dislodges it from its calibrated position. If your windscreen company couldn't complete the camera calibration, we handle it – it's one of our most common Audi calibrations.

Cat S/N Rebuilds

The A3 is one of the more common Audi models on the Cat S/N market. If you've purchased a salvage A3 and the cruise control or lane keeping isn't working, the sensors likely need recalibrating – it's a step that rebuild shops frequently miss. Our Cat S ADAS guide covers what to check before buying.

Audi A3 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Audi A3

C110300 indicates front radar sensor maladjustment – the radar behind the grille badge is physically out of alignment. This is a VW Group code shared with the Golf, Škoda Octavia, and SEAT Leon. Clearing the code won't fix it – the radar needs physical recalibration with OEM-grade targets. It's almost always caused by bumper repair, grille removal, or collision.
