Aston Martin DB12 ADAS Calibration

The DB12 introduced a full Level 2 ADAS suite to Aston Martin's grand tourer range – Adaptive Cruise Control with Speed Limit Adaptation, Lane Keeping Assist, and Automatic Emergency Braking, all standard. The sensor hardware is Mercedes-derived, but Aston Martin's bespoke infotainment integration means a Mercedes workshop manual will not produce accurate calibration results on your DB12.

ADAS Systems on Your Aston Martin DB12

The DB12 (2024+) carries the most comprehensive ADAS suite in Aston Martin's GT range:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Speed Limit Adaptation – front radar behind the bumper/grille, automatically adjusts to detected speed limits
  • Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Braking – AEB using both the front radar and windscreen camera
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) – camera-based steering correction when drifting without indicating
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – audible and visual alert on lane drift
  • Lane Change Assist – monitors adjacent lanes during overtaking
  • Blind Spot Assist – rear-quarter sensors detecting vehicles in blind spots
  • Rear Cross Traffic Assist – warns of approaching traffic when reversing
  • Speed Limit Recognition – camera-based traffic sign reading
  • 360° Surround View Camera – four cameras (front, rear, both mirrors)
  • Driver Attention Monitor – steering pattern analysis for fatigue detection

The front radar sits behind the DB12's distinctive grille. The forward camera is windscreen-mounted behind the rearview mirror. Side sensors are in the rear quarters. All sensor hardware is sourced from Mercedes' supplier chain, but Aston Martin's custom infotainment system and bespoke body integration mean calibration procedures are Aston Martin-specific.

Common Calibration Triggers for the Aston Martin DB12

Front bumper or grille repair: The DB12 sits low, and its long bonnet makes the front vulnerable to parking impacts and kerb strikes. The front radar powering ACC and AEB is integrated into the grille area – any bumper work that involves grille removal shifts the sensor alignment.

Windscreen replacement: The forward camera controls LKA, LDW, Speed Limit Recognition, and contributes to AEB. A windscreen replacement on the DB12 requires camera recalibration – our £199 service restores all camera-dependent systems.

Collision repair affecting multiple systems: A front-end collision on the DB12 can displace the radar, camera, and surround-view cameras simultaneously. A Collision Calibration ensures every system is restored to manufacturer specification.

Aston Martin DB12 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Aston Martin DB12

The sensor hardware is Mercedes-derived – sourced from the same supplier chain that supplies Mercedes-AMG. However, Aston Martin replaced the Mercedes COMAND infotainment with its own bespoke system, so the software integration layer is unique. Calibration cannot follow a standard Mercedes procedure.
